If you've been lusting after the iPod inside the touchscreen iPhone, but didn't want your phone and iPod in one device, Apple has great news for you. The new iPod touch is basically an iPhone without the phone, a touchscreen iPod with Multi-Touch, Cover Flow, Wi-Fi and even the Safari web browser.
The iPod touch is incredibly thin, thinner even than the iPhone at only 0.3-inches think. It features the same 3.5" display, great for watching movies, TV shows and online video (yeah, there's YouTube, too). With the touch, Apple is also introducing the iTunes Wi-Fi Music store, a way to download new music even when you're away from a PC or Mac; when you sync the iPod touch with your computer, the purchased music syncs back to iTunes, too. The iTunes Wi-Fi Store offers the same price as music selection as the full version (no Wi-Fi videos yet).
Available in two capacities, 8GB and 16GB, the iPod touch is now shipping with slight delays.

Apple's third generation (3G) iPod nano brings video to the most popular MP3 player in the world. The player looks a short iPod Classic at first glance; turn the new nano for a side view, however, and you'll see why it's the nano successor. At only 6.5mm thick, the 3G nano has a 2" screen for video playback, and uses a modified version of Cover Flow, the same iPod interface used on the iPhone.
The 3G nano is available in two capacities, 4GB and 8GB. The 4GB version available only in silver, but the 8GB version is available in several colors (shown left). The new iPod nano also is a bit lighter than its predecessor, weighing in at 1.41-oucnes. The 8GB version stores up to 2000 songs, which translates to about 100 hours of music.
The 3G iPod nano has the same audio battery life as the 2G, about 24 hours, and can provide about 5 hours of video playback per charge. In addition to video, the 3G iPod nano's color screen displays album art and JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PSD (Mac only) and PNG image formats.

Apple's 6th Generation (6G) iPod Classic continues the evolution of the iPod line with a new, all metal exterior and increased capacities, 80GB and 160GB. The Classic is now the only member of the iPod family with an internal hard drive; all other iPods, including the new iPod Touch and 3G nano use flash memory storage.
The latest iPod, though thinner and lighter than its predecessors, still features a 2.5" QVGA display. In addition to music, users can download videos, TV shows and movies from the iTunes Store.
Another improvement over the 5G iPod is battery life; the iPod Classic offers up to 30 hours of audio playback and 5 hours of video. The iPod Classic is available in both black and white.

According to Apple, the second generation iPod shuffle holds the title of "world's smallest MP3 player." Considering the large number of tiny player sold around the world, this claim may or not be accurate, but it's absolutely certain that the 2nd Generation iPod shuffle is light, tiny and cool.
